This nutraceutical business that we are in is interesting because the products and concepts of treating yourself by diet and natural foods and supplements has been around for hundreds and even thousands of years. It’s only recently that allopathic medicine, the part I am associated with, has really begun to understand the benefit these products provide. It’s very exciting to be a part of this cutting-edge rebirth of something so traditional but with significant improvement thanks to QxTechnology.
Probiotics are bacteria or fungi that you take into your body that promote health. Even though it is an ancient approach to wellness, the term probiotic was only coined in the mid-1970s. What these probiotics do—and many studies have proven this to be true—is protect our bodies and help us purify ourselves. The bacteria do many things. They protect us against invasion by harmful bacteria like Helicobacter Pylori, which can be the cause of ulcers in the stomach, and Clostridium Difficile, which can cause diarrhea. They do this by attaching to the colon and preventing these harmful bacteria from attaching. The bacteria also have anti-inflammatory properties and accomplish this by preventing harmful bacteria from attaching and by directly secreting compounds that inhibit those bacteria.
Probiotics have been shown in many studies to improve the symptoms of allergies, especially an allergic kind of skin condition called eczema. There have been some recent studies about the bacteria’s ability to modulate the immune system and possibly help us prevent the development of cancer. Hopefully more investment in this type of research will allow us to know for sure. Probiotic bacteria can reduce cholesterol and some can actually lower blood pressure by secreting a compound that is very similar to an ACE inhibitor, a commonly used blood pressure medication.
The benefit of probiotics is well known; the problem is how to get these bacteria through the gauntlet of barriers they must survive when taken orally. The first obstacle is the stomach. The stomach has one of the strongest acids known to man. It’s hydrochloric acid and has a ph of 1.0. Our stomachs begin the process of digestion, so it typically holds the food for 20 to 30 minutes before it starts its journey in the small intestine. Then the bacteria must get through the pancreatic enzymes and bile salts. Fortunately, QBiotics employs a revolutionary technology that allows us to get these bacteria through safely. Our QBiotics caplet, when combined with the moisture in the mouth, creates a gel barrier that prevents the acid from destroying these bacteria.
Of course we have the bacteria proven most effective: Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Streptococcus Thermophilus and Lactobacillus Helveticus (which is the bacteria that makes that blood pressure lowering compound).
When these probiotics reach the stomach, they sit there inside this protective capsule until they pass through the danger areas to the small intestines. QSleep contains 1.0 mg of melatonin per serving.
